Uncertainity
Living without knowing everything.
Do you also try to escape uncertainty?
You plan every detail.
You analyse every possibility.
You search for guarantees that do not exist.
You want to know if the job will work out.
If the relationship will last.
If the risk will pay off.
Life rarely answers in advance.
It simply asks you to begin.
That is what makes uncertainty so difficult.
It demands trust before evidence.
Faith before proof.
Patience before reward.
For a while, uncertainty feels like standing in a corridor with every door closed.
You wonder whether you are wasting time.
You compare your progress to people who seem more certain.
You mistake confidence for clarity.
You assume everyone else knows exactly where they are going.
Most of them do not.
They are making educated guesses.
They are hoping their decisions age well.
They are learning while moving.
The difference is that they keep moving.
Looking back, the biggest moments in life almost always begin with uncertainty.
The first day in a new city.
The first interview.
The first business.
The big move.
The first time you tell someone how you feel.
The decision to leave home.
The decision to return.
None of those moments arrive with certainty attached.
They arrive with possibility.
Uncertainty has a strange way of revealing character.
It shows who panics.
Who pauses.
Who persists.
It exposes the stories we tell ourselves when outcomes are hidden.
Some people assume the worst.
Others stay curious.
The outcome is often the same.
The experience is completely different.
Over time, something changes.
You stop expecting certainty.
You stop waiting for the perfect moment.
You realise that confidence is rarely present at the beginning.
It is built afterwards.
One decision.
One mistake.
One lesson at a time.
Then something unexpected happens.
Uncertainty becomes less frightening.
You begin to see it as evidence that life is still unfolding.
That there are still places to discover.
People to meet.
Dreams to outgrow.
Versions of yourself you have not met yet.
If every answer arrived today, tomorrow would lose its magic.
There would be no surprises.
No wonder.
No reason to keep turning the page.
Perhaps uncertainty is not standing in the way of life.
Perhaps it is life.
The unanswered questions.
The unfinished conversations.
The plans that change halfway through.
The future that refuses to reveal itself.
It can feel uncomfortable.
It can feel exhausting.
It can even feel unfair.
Yet it also carries hope.
Because while nothing is guaranteed, everything is still possible.
And sometimes, that possibility is enough to take the next step.
You do not need the entire map.
You only need enough courage to keep walking until the road reveals itself.
One day, you will look back and realise that uncertainty was never your enemy.
It was the space where your life had room to become something you could never have predicted.
And perhaps that is the greatest comfort of all.
The best chapters are often the ones nobody could have planned.

You polled to ask whether people read what you write (and read generally) I paused at the note…just wondering what would happen if you stopped caring. Just an uncertain thought.
